About The Author
Simbarashe Tongogara
Simbarashe Tongogara is a storyteller drawn to the spaces where cultures meet. Writing from the heart of multicultural Britain, he builds fiction that refuses easy answers — stories where fear and prejudice are real, but so is the quiet possibility of friendship.
His debut novel, Mildred Meet Rasta, grew out of a simple conviction: that the distance between people is rarely as wide as it first appears. Rooted in community, reggae heritage and lived experience, his work celebrates diversity, hope and the dignity of ordinary human connection.
Alongside his writing, Simbarashe is committed to community projects and cultural initiatives that bring people together across generations and backgrounds.
"I write about the bridges we don't expect to cross — and the people waiting on the other side."
